Jaipur : Manipal University Jaipur was honoured to have H.E. Naor Gilon, the ambassador of Israel to India, in the campus. Pro President Commodore (Dr) Jawahar M Jangir, Registrar Dr Nitu Bhatnagar and Prof. Santosh Patil (Director, International Collaborations MUJ), cordially welcomed the esteemed guest. The general focus of the visit, which was coordinated by the Directorate of International Collaborations (DoIC-MUJ), was “Student Interaction and Collaboration Opportunities”.
 
During the discussion with MUJ leadership, Ambassador Gilon covered the historical ties between India and Israel, alluding to the Battle of Haifa and migration of Jews to India in ancient times. He gave an overview of the current situation and stated his conviction that India will emerge as the next superpower. He further highlighted the numerous opportunities for collaboration between Indian and Israeli universities, emphasizing partnerships in the areas of science, technology, and agriculture. He underlined how crucial it is that we make use of these partnerships to foster innovation and growth on both sides. Pro President Commodore (Dr) Jawahar M Jangir also highlighted the importance of such international collaborations for faculty members, emphasizing the value of exposure and research collaboration in fostering academic excellence.
 
Addressing a diverse group of students with expertise in science and engineering, Ambassador Gilon encouraged them to aim for outstanding qualities, and hard work to help India succeed globally. The program culminated with an interactive session where students had the opportunity to ask questions related to various fields from education to diplomacy. The event not only provided students with a unique opportunity to interact with a prominent diplomat but also sparked discussions on the potential for academic and research collaborations between Manipal University Jaipur and institutions in Israel.
