The program began with lighting of the lamp. In the introduction of the program Prof. Lalita Ledwani, Dean, Faculty of Science, welcomed all the guests and attendees. She highlighted various achievements of faculty of science to the participants.

Jaipur : The National Science Day themed upon ‘Indigenous Technologies for Viksit Bharat’ to commemorate the Nobel Prize winning discovery ‘Raman Effect’ by Sir C V Raman, was celebrated at Manipal University Jaipur (MUJ). The program began with lighting of the lamp. In the introduction of the program Prof. Lalita Ledwani, Dean, Faculty of Science, welcomed all the guests and attendees. She highlighted various achievements of faculty of science to the participants.
 
Prof. Nitu Bhatnagar, Registrar, gave an overview of how MUJ has taken its current shape. She mentioned that lacs of students have been positively impacted by the Manipal group. Prof. G.K. Prabhu, President, MUJ, motivated the younger minds to create curiosity. He explained the science behind Jaali work being utilized in the Rajasthani architecture. He also emphasized on ethical use of science and innovation quoting the example of atomic bomb which can be destructive and nuclear energy provider both. Dr Saurabh Srivastava of chemistry department introduced the guests of the event.
 
The guest of honour, Kanika Kalia, Director, Bureau of Indian Standards, Govt of India, explained how students can participate in various activities of setting of national standards to build a better quality ecosystem. The chief guest of the function Prof. N. Sathyamurthy, Founder Director, IISER, Moahli, appealed to the students to choose the path of science which is must be curiosity driven. He shared journey of scientific developments of a flower popularly known as passion-flower.
 
More than four hundred students from various schools of Jaipur participated in the event. To celebrate this great event in more jovial way, various activities like poster making, Quiz, Nukkad Natak and short movie making competition etc. were also conducted for students of different institutes and winners were felicitated.
 
Vote of thanks was presented by Dr. Praveen Surolia, convener of National Science Day program and head of chemistry department. Heads of various other departments Prof. Kalpana Sharma (Mathematics), Prof. Ashima Bagaria (Physics), Dr. Sandeep Srivastava (Biosciences) and Prof. Devershi Pallavi Bhat (Computer Application) were also present during the event.
